The conclusion to Kristen and Vincent's story took us to a rollercoaster where I didn't know whether I wanted to scream out of frustration or excitement.
Vincent messing up was just a huge misunderstanding (not predictable at all!) but while Kristen was at home crying her abusive ex boyfriend with mental disorder showed up. Vincent beat him up to a pulp and it was supposed to over. Everything was supposed to be like a fairytale now. But it wasn't. Not even close.
The first two thirds of Beautiful Surrender were slow and boring and in the last third there was way to much action. The ending was so predictable and so damn rushed and abrupt.
I think that if it were written as a single book it would have been a lot better. I think it would have been quite gripping story otherwise. I'm not saying it wasn't good this way but some parts seemed forced, just so there would be enough pages in the book and some things weren't properly explained and explored so that it wouldn't be too long I guess.
The whole story was enjoyable if a bit predictable (read: a lot). It was fast, easy read with a simple plot. No deep thinking involved.
