Review: The Right Kind of Love by Kennedy Kelly

4.5 "special" stars! ****

Author: Kennedy Kelly

Title: The Right Kind of Love (The Blue Heart #1)

I'm usually sceptical about these type of books - where the girl is raped/kidnapped - so I was pleasantly surprised.

Sydney Summers just moved across the country to escape her past and her stepbrother Wes to start over new in Vegas. When she knocks on her new roommate's door, she's surprised to find out that her roomate isn't she but he.

Damien Blue is a tattoo artist/guitarist and a total man-whore. He's got different girl in his bed every night and he's not planning to change his ways anytime soon. Even having a girl as a roommate isn't going to stop him.

At first those two argue and banter just about everything. They gave each other cute nicknames: prude and pig. You can guess who is who. Oh, and Sydney's little chivauva Zeus is called rat. Well, pig calls him that. Prude thinks of Zeus as her child.

After while Damien stops whoring and his usually revolving bedroom door are actually closed. They become close friends and as their relationship form and grows so does the chemistry between them.

This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster. One second I'm laughing at their bickering and the other I'm feeling so sad and angry for Sydney.

In the end Sydney showed up to be a really strong and resilient. She took what she was handled and made the best out of it.

And I totally fell for Damien. Because even though he was a man-whore, he was caring, cute, funny, protective, family oriented and sexy as hell (he's got THE piercing!). [SPOILER: He didn't even want to kiss Sydney when she was drunk, because he wanted it to be special.]

Although their relationship progressed pretty fast, it didn't seem unnatural and unbelievable as it often does.

I ate up the whole book. I went to sleep at 4am just because I had to finish it.
