Review: Bully (Fall Away, #1) by Penelope Douglas

5 stars! *****

Author: Penelope Douglas

Title: Bully (Fall Away, 1#)

My name is Tate. He doesn't call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all. No, he'll barely even speak to me.
But he still won't leave me alone.
We were best friends once. Then he turned on me and made it his mission to ruin my life. I've been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to stay out of his way. I even went to France for a year, just to avoid him.
But I'm done hiding from him now, and there's no way in hell I'll allow him to ruin my senior year. He might not have changed, but I have. It's time to fight back.
I'm not going to let him bully me anymore.

Finally! It's been a long time since I gave a book five stars without thinking hard about it. Usually even when I enjoyed the book there was something that put me off but now? Nothing (well, except for one thing). I just loved it from the first word to the last.

Tate has been bullied since freshman year in highschool by no one else than her ex-best friend. It was like something clicked inside of him and he started to hate her all of sudden. She survived two years with his bullying and then left to study in France for a year. Now she's back for her senior year and she's ready to fight back.

Jared. He's tattooed, silent, man-whore, races and he's the one who made Tatum's life a living hell. While picking up on her, he also chased away every guy that ever asked her out or even thought about asking. Now that she's back the battle begins anew. And this time she doesn't just silently takes what he gives her. This time she gives it to him right back.

When Jared needed help, the only person who could help him is the person who he tormented for years. Tate had no reason to help him, but she did and that changed the dynamics in their relationship. He actually tries to be friends with her. For a while. Before their chemistry and suppressed feelings take over.

After years of holding back they can't get enough of each other. But still, there is still some part in Tatum that wonders.. Why did he do what he did? Why did he change now? What if he's just playing with her? Does he really love her or is it just another one of his tricks?

I fell in love not only with Jared, but also with his best friend Madoc who's been helping Jared with bullying Tate the entire time. He's a bit of a goofball. He's also incredibly loyal.

There was only one thing that bothered me and that was K.C. Tate's BFF. She actually started to hook up with Jared even knowing what he did to Tate and she even made it look like Tatum was the bad one. What. The. Hell. Really? And you call yourself a friend? She even lied to Tate and sneaked around. Why? Who trades a best friend for a guy?

This story will keep you on your toes the whole time you're reading. I couldn't put it down. I had to know about what really happened.

This book is about forgiveness, redemption, strength and endurance. Reading it will shift something inside you. It will make you realize things. It will make you think.

I loved every page and I'm soo looking forward to Jared's side of the story in Until You.
