ARC review: The Descartes Legacy by Nina Croft

1.5 stars! *

Author: Nina Croft

Title: The Descartes Legacy

Lucas Grafton has spent the last ten years hunting the Conclave, a secret organization who took everything from him: his wife, his child, his very identity. Now he has a lead--an imminent terrorist attack on London--code-named Descartes.

Born with a genetic illness, Jenna Young has always known she was different. But the unexpected death of her father catapults her into a world of murder and terrorism she never expected. In order to stay alive, she must solve a twenty-five year old mystery--and her only ally a hard bitter man in search or retribution, her only clue the Descartes Highlands, an area on the near side of the moon.

Luke's need for revenge collides with Jenna's hunt for the past, and together they must stand against the Conclave. All the while uncovering the truth behind Jenna's illness, a truth that will make Jenna question her very humanity.

I either like or hate the insta love. In this case it was the latter.

Another book by NINA CROFT that let me down. In this case it's partly because of the sci-fi sub theme.

There was some sort of a moon conspiracy and theory. Sometimes I was bit lost (not sure if it was my fault or not :D).

My head was spinning most of the time because there was one major event after another and there was too damn drama. So much of it. Emotional overload.

The characters were simple minded. Me Tarzan, you Jane. The insta love between them was off putting. They knew each other for a week and 4 days they were seperated. They didn't have time to fall in love. They knew nothing about each other. They didn't even really know themselves.

Luke's wife daugther was killed ten years ago and he spend ten year seeking revenge.

Jenna is ill (not mentaly, although sometimes it seemed like it). In the end it turns out that she's (view spoiler)

Not my cup of tea.

AND it ends in a fucking cliffhanger? I suffer through the whole book for it to end in a cliffhanger? I must have done something terrible for Karma to punish me so badly..
