ARC review: Accelerate (Hotwired, #1) by Tracy Wolff

5 stars! *****

Author: Tracy Wolff

Title: Accelerate (Hotwired, #1)

Once the brains behind a car-boosting ring, Nic Medina has spent the last three years playing it straight. Now drag racers flock to his L.A. auto shop, Hotwired, for a shot at going head-to-head with the man himself. But when a crooked cop gives Nic a treacherous ultimatum—steal ten high-end cars or watch his nephew disappear into the system—he makes the only choice he can, one that puts the life he’s worked so hard for at risk. No sooner does Nic agree than he spots some nasty competition—and a gorgeous bystander in harm’s way.

A small-town girl with Hollywood dreams, Jordan Bass never expected to be swept up in a real-life drama. But that’s exactly what happens when she witnesses a violent crime. And when a smoldering stranger takes the wheel and practically kidnaps her in a desperate bid to keep her safe, she’s not sure whether to scream . . . or kiss him. Nic’s bad news—but the real bad guys aren’t above silencing a witness. On a collision course with danger, Jordan finds herself falling for the man whose street smarts are keeping her alive . . . and whose touch puts her in high gear.

This. was. so. good. I wasn't capable of putting it down which resulted in me not goint to school for some lectures (not that I minded). Tracy Wolff is one of my favourite authors and with this book she proved that she belongs there.

Jordan is a poor, college student who's barely getting by. So when she wins a car at police auction she's estatic, because the only thing the car needs is a change of seats. Her co-worker knows someone who could repair it for almost nothing and so she finds herself at a place she'd never thought she'd ever be there. Car races.

Nic spend seven years in prison. He's been out for over three years but he still carries a lot of guilt inside of him that's been eating him alive for the last ten years. Now the cop who arrested him, comes back and is blackmailing him. He needs to steal a car if he doesn't want his little cousin to end up in foster care.

But it doesn't go the way he imagined. He ended up kidnapping Jordan along with the car. It brings back many painful memories, she had tried hard to bury.

It's true when they say that love can find you in the weirdest places. Those two instantly hit it off (well, almost. after she stopped thinking he wants to rape or kill her). They can't get enough of each other, although they both feel that what they feel is too fast. But they are not safe, because there was something in the car that the cop wanted. And that thing is now in Nic's possesion.

I loooved this one. TRACY showed that she's still got it in her. Although at first I was angry/annoyed that she keeps writing book after book but doesn't finish The Shaken Dirty series. I've been waiting for YEARS for another book. I seriously need my Wyatt dose. You can't get me addicted to something and then not give it to me! That's plainly mean.

The point is, in this case I'm not even mad.

This book was everything you want to read about. Everything you need to read about. Attraction, love, sadness, guilt, secrets, pain, redemption.

It's true that they've known each other for two days and already loved each other which is really really fast but it didn't seem ridiculous, unnatural, rushed. With Jordan and Nic it felt natural. Those two just fit together that much. You read about those two and you could hear how things clicked the first time they met each other eyes.

The only thing I didn't like (well, maybe not the only one but the major one) is Nic's hair. Dreads? For real? Are you in Jamaica? No. Cut them off.

Then the ending itself was a cliffhanger if I ever saw one, which pisses me off because the next book is supposed to be out on December 6th 2016. 2016! I need to know what happens next!
