ARC review: No Interest in Love (All About Love, #2) by Cassie Mae

2 stars! **

Author: Cassie Mae

Title: No Interest in Love (All About Love, #2)

When Jace Carver snags a minor part in his buddy’s zombie flick, he suddenly starts getting noticed all over the place. Even Hollywood megastar Carletta Ocean—known for her extensive “research” with her male co-stars—wants Jace for her new rom-com. The role could be a game-changer . . . if Jace nails the audition.

As Jace’s agent, Shaylene Kwak is all business, and isn’t about to let her favorite client blow this opportunity. Since their college years, Shay has been immune to Jace’s charm and rock-hard body. But long hours in close company have a way of wearing down even the best defenses, and when their platonic teasing turns into serious flirting, Jace and Shay are no longer able to resist what’s been right in front of them the entire time.

Shay knows Jace’s love-’em-and-leave-’em history with women. She’s not about to be just another notch in his belt. And it’s true, Jace has never wanted more than a one-night stand—until now. But at the end of the line, he’s got a choice: sleep with Carletta and seal the deal, or risk his career for a shot at true love with Shay.

A romance? What? Where? Did someone steal it? Because I didn't find any. It was a "slice of life" and not really interesting even though the author tried.

It's said from Jace's POV who's an aspiring actor with love them and leave them attitude. His role model is Barney Stinson. Yeah. That Barney. But Barney is at least funny.

Shay is a know-it-all with bad attitude towards everything. She's the ice gueen and everything is "fine". It's not.

Most of the book they are trying to get from one side of the US to the other and everything fails. It's raining, the car brokes down.. Blah, blah, blah.

They argue all the time. It wasn't funny. It wasn't intriguing. It was boring.

I think I knew from the very beginning that this book won't do it from me when the talk about HIMYM started. How he compared himself to Barney..

I have to admit that sometimes it wasn't that bad. The jokes get to you after while. Not saying that I "loled" but my mouth twitched. Once or twice.
