Title: Broken Lullabies (Love of a Rockstar, #2)

His eyes as black as the the devils tongue
His melodic voice more tempting than a siren’s call

Three years ago, Camille Barker was held at knife point but her attacker wasn't the one who haunted her dreams. No, it was the man that stood a-washed in the yellow glow of the street light, his stare observant but heedless. A witness to the senseless act. The venom that dripped from his twisted lips saved Camille's life and set her soul ablaze. Reemerging from the ashes, she set upon the well worn path her parent’s always dreamed she would take.

That is until rock n roller, Matthew Lee, shows her that you can only bask in the sun so long before the monsters come out to play.

The conclusion to the Phoenix Rising series started right where The Stage ended. So luckily the cliffhanger from the end of it is resolved (partly) in the first twenty pages.

Review: The Stage (Phoenix Rising, #1) by Shelby Rebecca

4 stars! ****

Author: Shelby Rebecca

Title: The Stage (Phoenix Rising, #1)

Mia, the saint. Kolton, the sinner.
Kolton Royce is a tatted, bad boy rock star at the top of his game.
Mia Phoenix is an overly responsible nineteen-year-old striving for stardom since losing her parents in a house fire.
When Mia ends up on Kolton’s team for the debut of the new nationwide singing competition, The Stage, she’s not sure if it’s her or her voice that he’s hellbent to control.
After he takes special interest in her welfare, they’ve been warned, any contact between them outside of filming is strictly forbidden.
He has other ideas.
She’s a phoenix rising from the ashes, the only one who understands the pain that lies beneath the persona. Though he’s not sure if he’s too bad for her, he can’t stay away.
All sinners have a past. All saints have a future. But, does being born in fire make the fissures weak in all the wrong places, or stronger than they’ve ever known?

Review: The Rock Star's Wife by Raven McAllan

2 stars! **

Author: Raven McAllan

Title: The Rock Star's Wife (Their Wives Book 1)

This was a very short novella. We've got Nico the rockstar and Kenna the rockstar's invisible wife. After three years of being ignored most of the times she decides to leave.

And Nico does nothing. He doesn't come begging for another chance. He doesn't even try to find her. He didn't even notice she was missing for couple of weeks! They eventually meet after some time and suddenly he wakes up and tries to win her back.

I really didn't get him or her. Nico ignored her 99% of the time. From what we've seen he was also pretty cold and stand-offish, he knew next to nothing about Kenna. I honestly doubt he'd have tried to get her back if he didn't met her by accident.

And she took him back. Just like that.

Maybe it would have been better if it was a bit longer so we could at least have some background information.

Also the timetable was confusing and well. Kind of missing, we were left to guess how much of the time passed. Then we've gotten some information about it and it got even more confusing. It was better not to think about the time at all and just let it flow.

It was a fast read with quite simple plot.

Review: Absorbed by Emily Snow

2 stars! **

Author: Emily Snow

Title: Absorbed (Devoured #1.5)

Well, hello my beloved dual POV, welcome back, I missed you. Surprisingly it not Lucas's and Sienna's but his and Kylie's.

This novella gives us insight what was going on in his mind when they were separated.

He mans up and stands up against Sam (she'll be back and cause even more problems than before. I'd bet couple of dollars on it). We see the process in which he writes Sienna's I'm-sorry-I-love-you song.

More interesting were the parts from Kylie's POV. Her whole story will be revealed in Savor You and here we only saw her happy end. Basically Emily Snow spoilered us (not that I mind, I love spoilers. no irony intended).

Absorbed was the weakest one of the series for now, but at least we got to see Lucas's softer side and his POV back.

Review: Devoured by Emily Snow

3 stars! ***

Author: Emily Snow

Title: Devoured (Devoured #1)

Fast forward two years from All over You and we find out what really happened at the end of it. Sienna didn't just dissapear and never came back. She left for a couple of days because of her mother is selfish, self-centered. And she's also a prisoner.

Lucas is still being blackmailed by his ex-wife Sam. And he is still an overconfident rockstar asshole. Not much has changed there.

Something pulls him to Nashville and he decides to buy a house there. And the house he chose belongs to no other than than Sienna's grandmother, who's drowning in bills because of her daughter Rebecca. She's not able to keep the house anymore and it's decided at court that it will belong to Lucas.

Kylie (Lucas's sister and personal assistant) goes on a vacation and Sienna temporarily takes her place - under the condition that Lucas'll give the house back to her grandmother and that he'll not touch her until she asks. Which he wants very much. Which she eventually does.

Their relationship seems to progress a bit and Sam strikes again, which makes Lucas act like an asshole and they part.(view spoiler)

Finally Sienna found a bit of her backbone ans stood up for herself. Hopefully she won't lose it again.

I'm guessing that the other two books in this series will be practically the same: everything goes pretty well, then Sam does something to fu*k it up.

Where did my dual POV go? :((

Review: All Over You by Emily Snow

Title: All Over You (Devoured #0.5)

I would call this as sort of an introduction, a prequel.

There are glipses of future problems - Lucas' wife will definitely be one of them. Lucas himself will be definitely major one.

Right now I feel kind of disconnected to the story. Many thingy were thrown at me in a really short span of pages.

Sienne, who's from Nashville, lives in LA and workes as a stylist. She's shy and blushes easily. She catches the attention of Lucas, a singer of one of the hottest bands. He pursues Sienna and invites her over, for a dinnner and one night stand.

There are obviously some problems with his ex and that causes him to act like an asshole and he chases Sienna away.

When he tries to apologies, he finds out she left city. Why? Did she changed her life around because it didn't work out with him? Or is there something else? Why is Lucas ex such a psycho? That's what we'll have to find out in Devoured.
