Title: Paper Hearts (Hearts, #2)

I lost her.

No, I didn't lose her. I threw her away.

She was my best friend.

I was never supposed to fall in love with her.

I was careless.

She was heartbroken.

I was doing fine until she came back into my life and reminded me what love was supposed to feel like.

When it's all said and done, she may not want to stay, but this time I'm going to do everything in my power to not let her go.

Review: The Girl I Was Before (Falling, #3) by Ginger Scott

3.5 stars! ****
Author: Ginger Scott

Title: The Girl I Was Before (Falling, #3)

I’m the selfish one. I suppose that’s the nicest thing people say about me. I’ve heard the other things, too. “Paige Owens is a pretty girl with nothing else to offer. She’s just a good time at a party. She’s stupid, heartless, cold and useless. All she cares about is getting a guy to look at her. Why would anyone want to be her friend?”

Some of those things are true. Others were true. They’re all hurtful.

None of it matters.

I’m ready to make the hard choices. I’m ready to face the consequences. I’m ready to be the girl I was before, and I’m done being the one who lost her way.

I’m ready to become the girl Houston Orr sees when he looks at me.

Houston isn’t a star athlete. He doesn’t play in a band. He’s never going to be president, and his life is so far away from simple and easy it isn’t even funny.
He wasn’t part of my plan. But I’m starting to think plans are overrated, and maybe our stories are what we make them. And mine depends entirely on me, and the choices I make…starting now.

Houston is my fairytale. He’s perfectly imperfect. He’s poetry and life. He’s truth and heartbreak, all rolled up in a tall body with dark hair, broad shoulders and green eyes that lull me into submission. He’s nothing I ever thought I wanted, but the very thing I need. He’s the only guy I’ve ever really loved, and he thinks I’m a princess. I fell into him, and now I’m holding on.

But sometimes life takes away our ability to choose. Sometimes…things aren’t in your control. Sometimes, it hurts to be selfless. My only hope is that when it comes time to choose, I get it right.

Welcome to my once upon a time and wish for happily ever after.

Review: Tyrant (King #2) by T.M. Frazier

4 stars! ****

Author: T.M. Frazier

Title: Tyrant (King #2)

I. Remember. Everything.

Only now I wish I didn't.

When the fog is sucked away from my mind like smoke through a vacuum, the truth that has been beyond my reach for months finally reveals itself.

But the relief I thought I would feel never comes, and I'm more afraid now than I was the morning I woke up handcuffed in King's bed.

Because with the truth comes dark secrets I was never meant to know.

I will put the lives of those I love most at risk if I let on that my memory has returned, or if I seek help from the heavily tattooed felon who owns me body and soul.

I don't know if I'm strong enough to resist the magnetic pull toward King that grows stronger every day.

He's already saved me in more ways than one. Now it's my turn to do whatever it takes to save him.

Even if that means marrying someone else...

Review: Kick Push by Jay McLean

4 stars! ****

Author: Jay McLean

Title: Kick Push (Road #2)

Kick. Push. Coast.

Amazing, emotional ride. It was full of secrets that kept you wondering. It was full of jokes that kept you laughing (well, mostly Tommy kept you laughing). It was full of romance that kept you swooning. It was full of anger and resentment that kept you wanting to punch somthing. Or someone.

It was full of sadness that made you cry. I was really strong and started leaking only in the last fifty pages! I'm glad that I was sensitive enought to not read it in public. That would've been embarassing.

Most importantly it was full of love. Not only the love you fell for someone else. The love you feel toward hobbys, toward life itself. It was full of hope. That unfulfilled dreams will come true. That everything will be alright, that we'll pull through, that everything will be okay.

Josh became a single father in his teens and he was left alone with his son Tommy. His parents threw him out, his baby mama Natalie run away and disappeared, his best friend had other concerns. He had to give up his greatest joy - skateboarding. He's on his own and he's got nothing. No money, nowhere to sleep, no support. Then a stranger comes and saves him. She takes him in and gives him everything he needs. Place to live, a helping hand, hope.

Becca is broken. After the death of her mother she comes to live with her grandma. She's surprised when she finds out that a man with a child also lives there. She can barely speak, because the car accident that kiled her mom also damaged her vocal folds. That's not the only thing. She can't handle being touched.

She and Tommy become the "bestest" friends. And with time she and Josh get closer to each other. She lets him touch her, a bit here and there. Both of them fell hard and fast.

Suddenly there are three things that Josh loves more than anything - his son, skateboarding and Becca. But she never planned to stay forever and eventually she leaves to attend college. And Josh is alone again, feeling more lonely than ever before.

Kick Push was a heart-breaking story with lots of twists. Once you start reading it's almost impossible to put it away. But it also make you want to throw it away sometimes. Or give a little shake to the people in the story.

I both loved and hated the book. I both loved and hated Becca. She was both strong and extremely weak. She was both annoying and endearing. I loved both Josh and Tommy. I loved Josh even when he was having a mental breakdown, I felt so sorry for him qnd just wanted to hug him.

And the ending? I honestly hope it wasn't the end. Such a fucki*g cliffhanger? I never read books with cliffhangers before there a continuation but I stupidly thought this one won't have it and it is a stand-alone. It just can't end like that. I'm refusing it.

Review: Deal Breakers by Laura Lee

3.5 stars! ***

Author: Laura Lee

Title: Deal Breakers (Dealing With Love #1)

Devyn and Riley has been friends for a couple of years. The met the first year at university and has been unseparable ever since. They bonded over sports and beer. And while they do feel atracted to each other they don't pursue it.

Riley is a man-whore but at least he keeps one girl around for a couple of weeks before he bores of her and dumps her.

Devyn (I really don't think this is supposed to be a girl's name) is a gorgeous blond, she loves football (the american one) and drinks beer better than most of the men.

They hook up before moving to different parts of the US. Riley who's been attracted to Devyn from the very beginning stars to ignore her after that.

Fast forward five years they meet again and Devyn's not alone. She's got a four year old who's the spitting image of his daddy.

It was on the shorter side but it felt alright. It wasn't rushed (at all! it took them ten years after all). Sometimes I felt a bit of deja-vu because a lot of scenes were about the same thing, in the same place.

I loved the little Nathan. He's the cutest of kids I've read about until now. Or at least his in the top 10. But he's definitely the funniest. Yep, he's asked his mother why his weenie gets big when he plays with it. For real.

But Devyn's and Riley's chemistry was off the charts! Steamy smoking hot!

Review: Captivated By Your Love by Kennedy Kelly

2 stars! **

Author: Kennedy Kelly

Title: Captivated By Your Love (The Blue Hearts #2)

I don't get how someone who wrote such an amazing book (The Right Kind of Love) could write this. It was.. ehm.. eh.. not good.

Justice who we met in The Right Kind of Love is a police officer and he was described as alfa male. I thought he was only possesive and compulsive. Things had to be his way and no one elses. He growled and was saying "mine, mine" like a freaking Tarzan.

Someone can find it romantic and spontanious and impulsive but to me it is just screams "crazy"!

And don't let me start on Abbee. She HAS to be called Bee or she throws a fit. She's so moody. She's angry. No, she's horny. NO, she's furious. Ups, no, she's happily in love. Aaaand she's not. Argh. She resisted everything Justice did, got unreasonably upset, yelled at him and before you turn the page she's doing exactly what he wanted. She's selfish and so damn touchy.

Both of them are so immature it hurts. They don't understand they have to COMPROMISE to have a chance for a happy ending.

Review: The Right Kind of Love by Kennedy Kelly

4.5 "special" stars! ****

Author: Kennedy Kelly

Title: The Right Kind of Love (The Blue Heart #1)

I'm usually sceptical about these type of books - where the girl is raped/kidnapped - so I was pleasantly surprised.

Sydney Summers just moved across the country to escape her past and her stepbrother Wes to start over new in Vegas. When she knocks on her new roommate's door, she's surprised to find out that her roomate isn't she but he.

Damien Blue is a tattoo artist/guitarist and a total man-whore. He's got different girl in his bed every night and he's not planning to change his ways anytime soon. Even having a girl as a roommate isn't going to stop him.

At first those two argue and banter just about everything. They gave each other cute nicknames: prude and pig. You can guess who is who. Oh, and Sydney's little chivauva Zeus is called rat. Well, pig calls him that. Prude thinks of Zeus as her child.

After while Damien stops whoring and his usually revolving bedroom door are actually closed. They become close friends and as their relationship form and grows so does the chemistry between them.

This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster. One second I'm laughing at their bickering and the other I'm feeling so sad and angry for Sydney.

In the end Sydney showed up to be a really strong and resilient. She took what she was handled and made the best out of it.

And I totally fell for Damien. Because even though he was a man-whore, he was caring, cute, funny, protective, family oriented and sexy as hell (he's got THE piercing!). [SPOILER: He didn't even want to kiss Sydney when she was drunk, because he wanted it to be special.]

Although their relationship progressed pretty fast, it didn't seem unnatural and unbelievable as it often does.

I ate up the whole book. I went to sleep at 4am just because I had to finish it.

Review: Breathe Me In by Erin McCarthy

3 stars! ***

Author: Erin McCarthy

Title: Breathe Me In (Blurred Lines #5)

The beginning was great and I really enjoyed how Anya and Kane interacted and how they started to bond. But as the story went on I started to get annoyed with Anya for being such a bit*h and with Kane for being such a wimp. I mean, the NYC epizode? He changed his mind with her doing nothing but looking sad.

The ending was way to rushed and nothing was really resolved even though we get to see a glimps of their happy ever after. I'd like to read a novella with those two, how they are three years from now, how they deal with their insecurities and issues and the probable baby.

I expected to see more interaction between her and Chloe and Ethan.

But overall I quite enjoyed this book)
