Title: King (King, #1)
Homeless. Hungry. Desperate.
Doe has no memories of who she is or where she comes from.
A notorious career criminal just released from prison, King is someone you don’t want to cross unless you’re prepared to pay him back in blood, sweat, pu$$y or a combination of all three.
King’s future hangs in the balance. Doe’s is written in her past. When they come crashing together, they will have to learn that sometimes in order to hold on, you have to first let go.
Warning: This book contains graphic violence, consensual and nonconsensual sex, drug use, abuse, and other taboo subjects and adult subject matter. Although originally slated to be a standalone, KING is now a two part series.

The first couple of pages I really didn't get the fuss about this book but then.. Oh. my. god. Amazing. Extraordinary. Superb. I freaking loved it and I ate it up. Yeah, there were some part that disgusted me a bit (the blowing someone's head part was exactly nice) but overall.. Not much bad things can be said about this one.
King just left prison and he returned to the exact place he was in before he was arrested. That place is full of drugs, guns, death and sex. But he has a goal and he needs lots of money. He doesn't want to expand his bussiness. No, he needs the money to makes one little, young life better.
She ends up in King's room but she's nowhere near ready to try to sell herself. She knows it and King knows it too. And he let her go.. Until her whore-friend tried to steal from King and shot her while she was running away.
Now King's angry and he wants revange. He keeps Doe handcuffed to his bed until he knows what to do with her.
I either love this type of book (aka violence, lot of deaths and blood and moral drama) or I hate it. In the beggining I was sure I'd hate it but in the end I did love it.
There was the usual. Blood bath, death, shooting, drugs.. But it wasn't over the top. Just the right amount of it. It also wasn't overly graphic for which I am grateful.
King is a tsundere. He acts all cold on the outside but inside there is hidden a fluffy lion just waiting to be petted. But even though he's fluffy and lazy looking he's lethal. He's still the king of the jungle. He's the king of all animals.
Doe was surprisingly a character that you fall in love even though she
has her annoying moments (all the moral thinking!). She was feisty,
brave, sarcatic and can stand on her own two feet. She didn't know who
she was and she didn't let it stop her.
Preppy just about killed me. I was so looking forward to his book and.. that's just not going to happen. I cried like a baby. Especially during reading his letter.
I'm excited about Tyrant. I'm sooo glad that I waited until TYRANT was out and then I read KING. Because the wating would kill me.
Cliffhangers aren't nice!
